Description Technical Specs Extended Information   The TPS Tri-Tip 3 PCD diamond scrapers are quickly becoming the tools of choice for surface preparation duties involving heavy coating removal. This CLOCKWISE rotating Tri-Tip polycrystalline diamond grinding head is ideal for the rapid removal of thick coatings while leaving the concrete surface intact. Unlike our SE and EA PCD diamond tools, the three PCD's in the TPS Tri-Tip scrapers sit flat on the concrete surface creating a 90 degree scraping profile. This allows the PCD's cutting edge to scrape along the top of the concrete, not into the concrete. This prevents severe marking of the surface. In keeping with our goal of providing machines and tooling that get as close to the wall as possible, the Tri-Tip PCD will effectively scrape within 1/8 inch of the wall on the TPS rotary machines. Use these PCD tools to remove heavy coatings, overcoats, glues, mastics, thin set and paint in situations were the concrete surface needs to stay intact. The Tri-Tip PCD heads are manufactured in both a clockwise and counter clockwise direction and are compatible with all of the Total Polishing Systems rotary and planetary concrete grinding and polishing machines.  PCD (polycrystalline diamond) is the result of sophisticated high-pressure, high-temperature technology in which carefully selected synthetic diamond particles are sintered together in a cobalt matrix. PCD product usually consists of two layers. The PCD layer (usually black) is diamond particles which have been sintered together into a coherent structure using a chemo-mechanical binder and high-pressure, high-temperature conditions similar to those used in single crystal diamond synthesis. The polycrystalline diamond layer is integrally bonded by an advanced process to a super tough tungsten carbide substrate which provides strength and permits welding or brazing with other metals. The random orientation of the diamond particles produces a high uniform hardness four times stronger than carbide with remarkable wear resistance.   Video
